Guidelines for selecting a switch for power tools:

1. Model/Brand:   If it is not listed, the switch must be disassembled and compared with the dimensions listed in the offer.

2. Mounting hole measurements:

   • Carefully measure the hole for mounting the switch. It is important that the switch fits without the need for modifications to the housing.
   • Use calipers to accurately determine the diameter of the mounting hole.

3. Mounting depth:

   • Check how much space you have inside the tool case. A switch that is too deep may not fit or may interfere with other components.
   • The installation depth includes both the part protruding outwards and the internal part for connecting cables.

4. External dimensions of the switch housing:

   • Pay attention to the outer dimensions of the switch housing, especially for unusual shapes (e.g. rectangular or square) and for switches for desktop machines where the housing may interfere with other components.

5. Side buttons:

   • Buttons come in different shapes and sizes. A smaller side button can expose the device to excessive dirt, which can lead to damage to the windings.

6. Switch shape:

   • Switches come in a variety of shapes: round, rectangular, square, etc. Choose a shape that matches the installation location. A switch that is too large or too small may not perform its function ergonomically or visually.

Note:   Sometimes it may be necessary to modify the housing to install a universal switch.
